Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of exposure to changes in the Egyptian economy through electronic news portals on the general mood of the public. It examines how electronic news portals' handling of economic events and issues affects public attitudes towards government economic policies and stakeholders. Additionally, the study explores how this coverage contributes to raising economic awareness and adopting economic behaviors that align with the state's overall conditions, all of which influence the mood of Egyptian citizens. The study is descriptive and relies on the theory of general mood. A sample of 400 individuals from the general public was surveyed. The study found that a significant portion of the sample, 49.3%, follows economic updates and decisions "sometimes," indicating regular but not constant attention to economic news. A large percentage of the Egyptian public expressed high satisfaction with the nature of the news coverage of economic updates and decisions through electronic news portals, with 65.8% of the sample indicating that the news coverage meets their needs and expectations well.
