The experience of Internet radio and its role in refining the skills of media students according to the capabilities and resources available A comparative study between public and private universities

Abstract

Internet radio has become one of the most important and prominent technological phenomena in the modern era. Most public and private universities alike have begun to use Internet radio in the training and educational aspect, especially for media students, as their specializations allow them to formulate, prepare, and produce complete content for those stations.

The study dealt with monitoring and evaluating the role of Internet radio and television, which is being established within media departments and colleges in Egypt, and determining its suitability for increasing the experiences and refining the skills of media students and qualifying them for the labor market, as well as the extent of students’ satisfaction and response to this training and educational aspect, as well as verifying the satisfactions achieved by students as a result of their use of Internet radio.

The study used a survey approach and a questionnaire tool and was applied to a sample of 250 students from colleges and media departments in public and private universities. The study concluded with a set of results, the most important of which is the students’ interest in working within their colleges’ Internet radio. “Giving students more experience in the practical field was at the forefront of the reasons for establishing The respondents’ colleges for Internet radio and television, followed by promoting college and university news. The study sample confirmed that working on their university radio gives them the skills of preparation, presentation, photography, and editing (which is the goal for which it was created).
